Dancing since the age of 5, Kris Clark has studied under Miss Mimi
Costa-White. Throughout her years at Doreen’s School of the
Dance she studied Jazz, Tap and Ballet. Entering her senior year
of high school, she was invited to join the staff at Doreen’s School
of the Dance as a Jazz level 1 & 2 teacher; so Kris joined the staff
in 2001. Her next year she went off to college and attended San
Jose State University to be come a dance major in the fall of 2002.
Kris was able to continue her teaching with the jazz students
because she decided to commute from home. In addition to the jazz
classes, Kris took over the primary teacher position in the Saturday
beginning ballet/tap combination classes. In 2004, Kris began
teaching all the jazz classes at the studio, levels 1-3. Due to an
unfortunate ankle injury in her 2nd year Kris withdrew from her
dance major, and completed her minor with the dance department,
and majored in Child and Adolescent Development in 2007.
Kris is a certified teacher through Dance Masters of America, and
continues her dance education through DMA. Kris was the junior
member chairperson through DMC-13 from 2008-2010.
Kris is still currently on staff at Doreen’s School of the Dance. In
addition to jazz, Kris also teaches beginning pre-teen ball and tap.
Kris lives in Antioch with her fiancé, and enjoys raising her 2
champion Chesapeake Bay Retrievers.
